Fans of Forza3 will appreciate the new FM3-inspired interface and color scheme. Even the app icon gets a new twist to coincide with the game. 2.0 not only looks better but works better too with a change to allow use on the iPad. Other changes make it easier to use the Car Info and Gearing screens.

Drift Tunes are Here!

We use to get 5 emails a day requesting drift tunes–well thanks for the encouragement and enjoy the new base tunes designed for going sideways and maintaining better control with the tail out.

The full version also gets the closely-guarded, personal base tune (called Pro Grip) developed by Feuerdog. Pro Grip is only available on the ForzaTune app. It is such a great base tune you may get a little giddy the first time you try it. Like a kid on Christmas.

If you update to the latest iOS 4 you will notice that the “DONE” button disappears from the keypad.  A fix was submitted to the App store but it was not approved before the OS update was available.  In the meantime using the sliders is a temporary fix for the suspension tune.  Thanks for understanding and being patient–I apologize for the inconvenience–I will post when Apple approves the update!

Two Apps in One

Gear Tuning Made Simple

Go ahead and try to find a single gear calculator that is both easy to use and requires minimal keypad input.  Several months of research and development brought together the best parts of every article and spreadsheet on gear tuning.  All you have to do is enter a few things about your car, a target top speed and you are guaranteed to have every gear soak up the powerband.

NOTE: if you have a car with a very low peak torque rpm (one of the inputs for the gearing app) you may get some crazy numbers…in that case just increase the peak torque rpm a few thousand rpm.

It’s funny how it always takes more time to simplify something!  But that is the #1 ForzaTune priority: simple, effective tuning help.  Get your copy now if you haven’t already and you’ll get these updates (mid-Feb) for free.

In the spirit of ‘fine-tuning’, we have released another update to ForzaTune Premiere!  Be sure to update your app if you have not already.  If you are currently running the Lite version now is a great time to upgrade!  This new version includes:

• Significant improvements to the Forza 3 suspension calculations.
• Auto-save feature that saves your car info between sessions.  The data is saved whenever you click ‘Get Tune’.  Go ahead and answer that text message…your tune will be waiting for you when you reload!
• More precise metric conversion on spring rates.
• Step-by-step instructions in the help section…including tips and tricks for customizing the ForzaTune base tune.
• Fix so you no longer need OS 3.1.2 to download–whoops! (minimum OS requirement is 3.0 again)

This is a ‘must-download’ update–enjoy!

If you are new to this whole custom tune world check out the tutorial I made on how to use the application and where to find car details.  A little humor mixed in with some seriously useful info!

• I am working on a gear calculator since it is a commonly requested feature.
• I might add a feature that saves your latest entry when you exit the app (and then reloads upon startup).
• Translations are also in the works.

New to ForzaTune?  Thanks for checking out the site!  This is a quick and simple app that lets you enter in vehicle details and get back suspension settings for Forza Motorsport 3–all in a matter of seconds.  You can click the icons on the right of this page (homepage) to get your free or paid versions.

Just a quick update for everyone…

Version 1.1 of ForzaTune™ Premiere has been submitted to the Apple iTunes store and is awaiting approval (should be available to update on your device within a week).  It will have a lot of great improvements! For our fellow racers across the world we will have metric units support, and for everyone with Forza 3 we will provide FM3-specific tunes.

Up until now we recommended adding 20% to the FM2 spring rates but this update will include much more comprehensive Forza3 suspension calculations.  Feuerdog and I hope everyone understands that this is the first FM3 tune and it will get better much with time and further testing.  Thanks to everyone for all the great comments and encouragement!

If you are on the mailing list you will receive an email when the new update is available for download.  Remember there will be a small bump in the price when the update comes out so if you are on the fence, right now is the time to get ForzaTune Premiere–the 1.1 update will be free if you already own the app.  (click here to download the full app now)

UPDATE (10/27/09): Many players are using this app for Forza Motorsport 3.  There is always room for improvement though and Feuerdog has some tweaks to roll into the next version (2.0) along with metric updates and more.   But no need to wait–get your copy now and start using on FM3!

UPDATE (10/28/09): Feuerdog (the mastermind behind the calcs) is recommending a slightly stiffer setup for FM3 now that he has had time to test.  His recommendation is to increase weight OR spring rates by 20% for the time being.  A lot more testing to do still–thanks for the patience.  More updates to come!
